Our Divine Nature in Psychic-Mediumship

“The divine in me sees the divine in you.”

This is a common translation of the Hindu greeting Namaste. It reflects the idea that something sacred exists within each of us—within life itself, within our purpose, and within what many would call God. When we recognize this in one another, it often expresses itself as compassion, kindness, patience, and a deeper sense of respect for the human experience.

Psychologist Jordan Peterson once described human goodness as having a high regard for the consciousness of others. In simple terms, goodness begins when we recognize that another person’s inner life—their thoughts, feelings, hopes, and struggles—truly matters.

This perspective offers a meaningful way to understand the role of the psychic-medium.

During a reading, several layers of consciousness come together. The client brings the experience of a life being lived—their questions, challenges, and personal journey. The reader brings intuitive awareness and the ability to perceive and interpret impressions. And then there is Spirit.

Spirit can be understood in many ways. For some, it is the presence of loved ones who have passed on. For others, it may be the Higher Self, higher levels of consciousness, or the presence of God, Jesus, or divine guidance. However one understands it, Spirit represents a broader field of awareness that can offer perspective, comfort, and insight.

When these elements come together with respect and sincerity, a reading becomes less about performance and more about connection.

Some readings can drift toward the dramatic, where the goal is to create a “wow” moment that proves ability. Others may become overly directive, telling someone what they should do rather than helping them understand themselves more clearly. At times, clients themselves may want to hand over responsibility for their choices, saying, “Well, the psychic said…”

But many people come for something much simpler.
They want to be heard.
They want to be understood.
They want clarity.

At its best, a reading is not about proving psychic ability. It is about helping someone reach an “a-ha” moment—an insight that allows them to see their situation, their patterns, or their possibilities in a new way.

In this sense, the work of a psychic-medium becomes an act of respectful listening and thoughtful sharing. The reader’s role is not to replace a client’s judgment or decisions, but to offer impressions and perspectives that may help illuminate the path ahead.

Seen in this way, psychic-mediumship reflects the deeper meaning behind Namaste.

The client brings the story of a life being lived for a psychic connection.
Spirit may offer expanded awareness and guidance.
The reader serves as a bridge, interpreting impressions with humility and care.

When approached with sincerity and ethical intention, the process becomes something simple yet profound:

The divine within ourselves recognizing and honoring the divine within another.

And perhaps that is the true purpose of a reading—to hold a space where consciousness meets consciousness with respect, insight, and the shared recognition that something sacred moves through us all.
