The ”Next Age” - Learning about Being Special

The ”Next Age” - Learning about Being Special

by Susan Fiandach and Connie Wake

As owners of a “next age” inspirational shop and learning center for psychic studies, we’ve upgraded the term of “new age” as “new age” has been around for quite a while…and in some ways, it is stuck in the 1970’s; and in other ways, it is so far “out there” it doesn’t provide any value to any one.

We are instead using the term “Next Age” to describe the phases of learning that help us walk into our best selves through knowledge and consciousness awareness of the higher expression of our humanness:  Getting past…the past…the myths that drive our fears, our emotional dramas, and outdated thoughtware. There is always a “next age”…the never-ending learning of the novice and the expert.

Through the advancement in brain, mind-body consciousness and the nature of our environment from an energy versus matter point of view, we’ve can come to an understanding of the infinite power of our selves. When we separate from the old filters of the human condition…the conditioning of our limited human selves…we can explore the potential of whatever we desire to think, say and do.

The next age is recognizing our own selves, and how special we each are. We have an immense ability to expand our understanding of who we are and what we’re doing in the here and now.  We have the ability to stop thinking one way to enjoy a more positive perspective as an exhilarating emotional experience and outcome. This also fades the lines of separateness and helps us realize we are all special, unique and intricately connected souls. We can then say “I’m special” with the knowing “We are One” at the same time.

If we so choose…that is, if we are willing to recognize what stops us from exploring and engaging our special selves. The same thing that can celebrate our uniquely special selves is the same thing that can stop us…our mind. As Edgar Cayce, 20th philosopher, said: “Mind is the Builder…” referring to what our current day philosophers, medical experts, and motivational gurus all say about the power of the mind’s ability to express beyond pre-conditioned habits or social mores…what we are calling, filters.

Our filters are the detours and distractions created by our brains and engaged by our mindedness…whatever we put our mind on…every day.  We mentally have the ability of our senses to pick up all sorts of stimuli of our environment (physical and non-physical) which can divert us from paying attention to a teacher, a presenter, a mentor, a therapist, or our best friend during a conversation. A mental filter can show up during these times as thoughts: “I have to pick up milk on the way home” or “that color is terrible on that wall.”

During these same occasions, we can also be easily emotionally diverted. This is when our filters, our ego, biases and perspectives from emotionally-charged experiences, impact what we are listening to and divert us back to what we believe in, what we want to hold on to as a comfort level, negative self-talk, or what we are preparing to say as a response. We “hear” but do not “listen” even if it is to expand knowledge or awareness. When not paying it any mind, we end up as single or closed-minded, thereby bypassing our “next age” adventure that celebrates our unbounded special selves.

Our “next age” is always available…in our daily opportunities to learn about our unique selves…to listen without filters…to engage without fear…and walk into an expanded expression of our infinite nature as an unbounded spirited, conscious human being…our specialness in the Oneness.
